The Skills Layer for Physical AI

The Skills Foundry defines the dataset and the model checkpoints.

Every skill starts as a data specification and ends as a versioned model checkpoint. We define what to capture, curate human video and robot teleoperation against it, fine-tune policies on top of foundation models, then benchmark each checkpoint on physical hardware before it ships to a customer floor.

Skills Foundry
Stage 01

Data preparation

We curate and capture video and sensor data from humans — and teleoperation data from robots in real environments — across varied operators, settings, objects, states, lighting conditions, clutter and failure modes that are aligned to specific task objectives.

  • Video, sensor and teleop data
  • Varied operators and settings
  • Failure modes included
Stage 02

Train

We train skills-centric policies by fine-tuning on top of foundation models. Teleoperation training establishes specific behaviors, and reinforcement learning in simulation pushes it beyond the demonstrations it started from.

  • Post-training on GR00T and π0
  • Teleoperation training
  • Sim-to-real randomization
Stage 03

Validate

Each skill runs a fixed benchmark on physical hardware, and ships once it clears the success rate, cycle time and safety envelope expected.

  • Physical benchmark harness
  • Safety envelope certification
  • Validated acceptance gates
Stage 04

Deploy

We commission on site, fine-tune to your building, and keep improving. Fleet telemetry feeds the next capture program, so the skills get better while you own them.

  • On-site commissioning
  • OTA policy updates
  • Fleet telemetry & reporting
Getting to work

From first call to a robot on shift in twelve weeks.

Week 0–1

Deployment review

We walk your floor, time the tasks, and map which ones are ready to hand over today.

Week 2–3

Pack & platform selection

Skills matched to the work, hardware matched to the skills, acceptance criteria written down.

Week 4–7

Site fine-tuning

We capture in your building and adapt the policies to your layout, your equipment, your lighting.

Week 8–10

Acceptance testing

Every skill runs the benchmark on your floor. You sign once the numbers clear the gates.

Week 11–12

Live & improving

Staff training, shift handover, telemetry switched on. Updates arrive monthly from there.

Build the business case before you buy a robot.

Our Deployment Impact Assessment baselines the labor in scope, quantifies what automation is worth on your floor, and returns a costed plan your finance team can underwrite.
